What is the opportunity?
Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
To provide in depth Commodity Product support within the Commodities Operations Confirmations Team. Primary focus within the operations team is to provide trade confirmation and static data coverage in order to mitigate operational risk between RBC and our counterparts. Confirmation coverage is to ensure that trade confirmations are sent to and verified with our counterparts in accordance with our Standing Orders. In addition to providing support to the operations team there is the need to support to trading, sales and other departments with various inquires that may arise from day to day.

What will you do?
- Review Confirmations prepared by Junior Analysts and ensure they are in accordance with the Standing Order Policy. Prepare confirmations specifically requested by FO for more complex deal structures.
- Evaluate RBC prepared Confirmations to ensure they match with the Client prepared documents (both in economic terms and Legal Agreement provisions). Advise Junior Analysts on their dealing with Client discrepancies and ensure unresolved discrepancies are escalated to the FO, Documentation Group, Legal Department as appropriate.
- Analyze T-1 reconciliation between Actiflow and Openlink to ensure accordance with Standing Order Policy with regard to sending out confirmations.
- Review and action regulatory reporting obligations to ensure compliance such LTR/OCR reporting.
- Ensure maker/checker is in place for static data entry and/or updates. Responsible to verify static data set up by other members of the confirmations team or other departments. Implement procedures for static data entry/updates to assist in streamlining this process. Create a framework to facilitate a standardized approach towards maintaining static data.
- Review Outstanding Aged Confirmations Reports distribution and document follow ups to reduce number of outstanding confirmations.
- Participate in the testing, analysis and establishment of operational procedures upon the introduction of new products as advised.
- Research source of Commodity prices and the appropriate Commodity description for each Index template to be created for new commodity products traded.
- Maintain and update the confirmation letter templates and index templates used in the automated generation of confirmations.
- Adhere to firm wide KYC policies for set up of new and existing clients.
- Maintain product and operational procedures on an on-going basis.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Above average knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Above average knowledge of MS Excel (including pivot tables, vlookups, formulas).
- Exceptional candidates who do not meet criteria will be considered
- 2-4 years of working experience
