About the role
Some of what you will do:
The Benefits Assistant will liaise with the Benefits and RRSP provider as well as support the Payroll and Benefits Administration Department with a high level of confidentiality.
Specifically, You Will:

Administer benefit premium payment log file by identifying team members on leave of absence, and following up with team members to ensure payments have been received and recorded in the payroll system

Keep a current database for use by the Wellness team to complete employer long-term disability statements

Proof daily leave report and determine short-term or long-term disability eligibility for leave of absences. Update Abilities & Wellness team on appropriate leave detail

Coordinate and administer parental leave top-up processes, including eligibility validation, payroll coordination, and ongoing tracking of payments

Review and validate monthly invoices related to benefits, Abilities & Wellness, and Wellness programs

- Office environment/Hybrid
Some of what you need:

2-year Community College diploma or equivalent with an emphasis on payroll/benefits/HRIS is preferred

1-2 years of administrative or equivalent experience

Benefits Administration, Payroll and/or Finance experience an asset

Attention to detail
-
Excellent data entry skills
-
Proficient in Excel and Word

Strong ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines

Operates in a manner that is appropriate given the confidential nature of the work
