About the role

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada's largest airport for the future of air travel, including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted advisor to project leadership, providing strategic and operational HR support across assigned business areas within the PACT program. Working closely with leaders, the HRBP will support workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness while helping to build and sustain high-performing teams. This role plays a key part in supporting project mobilization and workforce growth, ensuring HR programs and practices align with PACT governance, business objectives, project requirements, and applicable employment legislation.

RESPONSIBILITIES Act as the primary HR partner for assigned business units and project teams, supporting workforce planning and organizational needs. Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives. Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation. Coach leaders on employee development, leadership effectiveness, performance management, and team engagement. Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and mobilization activities. Prepare employment offers, coordinate onboarding activities, and maintain employee records within BambooHR and other HR systems. Support change management initiatives and organizational transitions. Develop and support employee engagement, retention, diversity and inclusion, recognition, and culture initiatives. Participate in leadership meetings, governance forums, and working groups to provide HR guidance and recommendations. Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, project requirements, and applicable security clearance processes. Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee development, leaves of absence, and offboarding. Prepare HR metrics, workforce reports, and analytics to support business planning and decision-making. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall employee experience. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided.

It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background Check and successfully attain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. CHRP, CHRL, or working towards a professional HR designation is considered an asset. 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, HR best practices, and employee relations. Experience conducting workplace investigations and supporting performance management processes. Experience supporting workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement initiatives. Experience partnering with leaders in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Experience working with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience is considered an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; experience with Smartsheet is an asset. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC clearance.
