We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our HR team. This is a great entry point into a broad HR role where you'll gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, health and safety, and HR administration. You'll work closely with our HR Manager and Coordinator, supporting programs and initiatives that directly shape the employee experience at Heritage.

Position Objectives:
Supports the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources function. In addition to remaining current with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations, this role requires an individual that is passionate about delivering employee experience initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include employee relations, health & safety, attendance management, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support the recruitment process from posting to offer ? including phone screens, interview scheduling, reference checks, and drafting offer letters.
- Help coordinate a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for every new hire.
- Assist with career fair planning and recruitment advertising materials.
HR Administration & HRIS
- Maintain accurate employee data in Dayforce HCM and support day-to-day system administration.
- Prepare HR documents including employment verification letters, change letters, and employee correspondence.
- Monitor attendance and support the attendance management program.
- Respond to employee sick call-ins and assist with next-day scheduling coordination.
Health & Safety
- Maintain health and safety records and support documentation for the company OHS program.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies including WorkSafeBC as needed.
- Support return-to-work check-ins for employees on modified duties.
Culture & Engagement
- Actively participate in monthly cultural champion initiatives and the social committee.
- Support employee recognition programs and help foster a positive, connected workplace.
Qualifications:
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or Business Administration ? or currently working towards one.
- 1+ year of experience in an HR or administrative support role is preferred; we'll consider strong candidates who are newer to the field.
- Familiarity with BC employment legislation (ESA, WorkSafeBC, Human Rights Code).
- Experience with Dayforce HCM or a similar HRIS is a strong asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Outstanding attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and the drive to take initiative.
- Ability to travel between company sites as required
