About the role
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition & Development, the Manager of Talent Acquisition provides strategic leadership for the University's talent acquisition function. The role serves as the University's subject matter expert for recruitment strategy, executive search consultation, employer branding, recruitment analytics, compliance, and applicant tracking system optimization. The position partners closely with the Manager of Employment Services to ensure a seamless hiring experience from requisition through onboarding and maintains cross-functional knowledge to support business continuity. As staffing levels evolve, this position may directly supervise Talent Acquisition staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead enterprise talent acquisition strategy and advise hiring leaders on recruitment best practices.
- Consult on executive and complex searches and partner with search committees.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, affirmative action, and University policy.
- Develop and deliver recruitment training for hiring managers and search committees.
- Lead continuous improvement of recruiting processes, ATS functionality, reporting, and analytics.
- Partner with Marketing & Communications on employer branding initiatives.
- Maintain vendor relationships and strategic recruiting partnerships.
- Partner with the Manager of Employment Services to ensure seamless transitions from candidate selection through onboarding.
- Maintain working knowledge of background checks, employment transactions, I-9 requirements, and related hiring processes; provide operational support during peak periods or business continuity events.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for assigned Talent Acquisition staff as organizational staffing levels permit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Expert knowledge of full-cycle talent acquisition and recruitment strategy.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws including EEO, OFCCP, ADA, and Colorado employment regulations.
- Strong consultative, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Project management, analytical, and process improvement skills.
- Ability to interpret recruitment metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with ATS platforms, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Five years of progressively responsible talent acquisition or HR experience.
- Experience consulting with hiring managers on complex recruitment activities.
- Experience applying employment laws and recruitment compliance requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree.
- Higher education experience.
- SHRM or HRCI certification.
- Executive recruitment experience.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In accordance with the University’s flexible work policy, this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000
