About the role

Talent For Ohio

Making Career Connections

OFIC has a long-standing history of partnerships with businesses in the state of Ohio and beyond that generously support independent colleges and the students attending our 30 member campuses. Combined, the OFIC member campuses have more than 70,000 students and countless alumni. With our vast employer and campus network, OFIC is the common thread to help make meaningful career connections!

Being ready when opportunities present themselves is key. OFIC is helping both students and employers prepare for engagement with one another.

Cultivating Career Readiness

TalentedU

Preparing Students for Career Connections

TalentedU is a student career-readiness experience that equips OFIC member campus students with the skills and competencies they need to boost their career readiness and become more competitive in seeking internships and full-time jobs.

The program includes eight online modules that students can complete at their own pace or with a faculty or staff member. Modules are aligned with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) competencies, ensuring they are practical and relevant. Students earn a Credly digital badge for each module they complete, showcasing their achievements and skills

Employers: please consider supporting TalentedU’s growth and helping students earn Credly badges. Contact Melanie Garrabrant to learn more.

Capital University Delta Sigma Pi Annual Training

Delta Sigma Pi students from Capital University got an inside look at TalentedU’s approach to equity, inclusion, and career development, engaging actively throughout the session. The fraternity’s leaders said it was one of their strongest programs yet and even more impactful than last year’s event.

Tiffin University Adds TalentedU to Curriculum

Tiffin University has added TalentedU to its curriculum, giving students hands-on opportunities to develop skills. First- and third-year students engage in practical lessons that extend learning beyond the classroom.

This initiative complements the Dragon Education Core (DEC), TU’s series of experiential core classes that guide students from freshman to senior year. Together, TalentedU and the DEC prepare graduates with the knowledge, technical skills, and interpersonal abilities needed to succeed in the workplace and become innovative contributors and leaders.

At OFIC, we believe in the power of work-based learning, and our partners do too. Together, we expand our network and create opportunities for career-ready students to gain real-world experience.
