Position Overview

The Trainer, under the guidance of the Manager, Training, will instruct Aircraft Maintenance related subjects and collaborate with internal customers to source and/or design effective training programs. Subject topics may vary from skill-based requirements acrosss various departments (ie. Aircraft and Component-level Maintenance (Production), Materials, Engineering).

What You Will Do

Develop and deliver training using a variety of instructional techniques, training aids and hands-on practical exercises on a variety of topics primarily related to aircraft, aircraft maintenance, component maintenance and possibly other related skills such as Aerial Platform use, First Aid, etc. Work collaboratively with the Learning and Development team and internal customers to design and/or source training solutions. Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts in the preparation of course material. Prepare on the job (OJT) training programs for delivery. Prepare testing and examinations associated with theoretical and practical aircraft instruction. Coach and mentor SMEs and junior team members in training delivery skills. Maintain records and generate reports within Learning Management Systems. Provide coaching and mentoring to Apprentices as required. Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Bring

5-10 years’ experience performing maintenance on a variety of aircraft as an Aircraft Mechanic; experience on either CH149 Cormorant or C130 Hercules aircraft considered an asset Comfortable teaching in a classroom enviroment, while demonstrating excellent communucation skills (eg, online, classroom, OJT) Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint and Excel for the preperation of course material Proven leadership skills, both in classroom and leading projects Proven ability to deliver constructive feedback while providing support for improvement Excellent time management and organizational skills First Aid qualifications are considered an asset Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
