This is an excellent opportunity to get in-depth HR knowledge and experience in a large, complex, not-for-profit laboratory. You will gain valuable experience in an administrative support role supporting major HR projects and will be able to pursue personal learning goals in Human Resources and Information Systems. Key Responsibilities We are looking for a student to help in a variety of areas within our Human Resources Department, including: Assisting our Talent Attraction Team with recruitment tasks, including scheduling interviews, collecting reference letters, correspondence with candidates, and reviewing processes to identify gaps and improvement areas. Working with our HR Programs group to help with a variety of HR tasks, including fielding inquiries from staff, calculating and adjusting absence balances, preparing employment confirmation and invitation letters, maintaining employee files and updating and reporting on data in our HRIS system. Qualifications Human Resources or Business Administration student Intermediate/advanced level MS Office - required Demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain positive and beneficial relationships Demonstrated ability to multi-task with proven organizational skills Ability to work independently Strong analytical skills and being able to develop workflow logic for information system workflow design for HR practices Basic understanding of document management - an asset Experience with MS SharePoint or OneDrive - an asset Experience with Workday - an asset Skills to be gained Human Resources: exposure to a variety of different HR responsibilities and areas, with a specific focus on Recruiting Communications: business comms writing Leadership: influencing others' actions and support Teamwork: developing collaborative relationships in a professional work environment Skills required: TRIUMF, Canada's national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics, is situated on the vibrant south campus of the University of British Columbia, nestled within the beautiful Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver, BC.
