Is WorkBridge for me?

WorkBridge works with Albertans, 18 years of age or older, who are unemployed or underemployed who may have multiple barriers to employment and be in receipt of Income Supports (IS), the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) or Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH).

Virtual Reality Career Exploration experience with over 30 immersive simulations created in collaboration with industry experts. Dedicated Workshop Room will host personal and employment development sessions and employer engagement events. Resume Service/ One to One Resume Consultation Employment and Personal Development Workshops Career AI-Driven Feedback Tools including Resume and Interview Preparation and Practice Networking for Employment Connection Job Matching & Placement: Connect with Employers who have job openings Personalized Coaching & Support Work Based Simulations, Work Based Learning and Paid Work Exposure Assistance in obtaining required employment certifications, training and supplies Careers Events with Employers & Industry Resource Centres which offers a comfortable, accessible and welcoming environment Private Career Coaching rooms Digital Resource Lab Ongoing motivation, support and coaching.... even after you start your job!

I am currently working, am I still eligible for the program?

To be eligible for WorkBridge Edmonton, you are required to be unemployed or have marginal employment (i.e. no guarantee of hours from week to week).

Can you help someone who lives outside of Edmonton? Can you find work outside of Edmonton?

To be eligible for WorkBridge, you must live within the greater Edmonton region. Many of our participants are seeking employment outside of Edmonton and WorkBridge can definitely assist with locating employment opportunities beyond the Edmonton region.

Are your services complete once I gain employment?

No. We offer ongoing support and assistance for 12 months after you secure employment. This assistance can include coaching on any worksite/ personal concerns you may have and can looking for additional employment.

What makes WorkBridge unique from other BGS employment services?

WorkBridge is designed to assist individuals facing multiple barriers to employment 18+ years of age who are ready, willing and able to work full-time but require: Assistance with employability and personal development skills, work based experience, paid work exposure, coaching on developing or refining their job search skills and help with making connections to employers. As well, WorkBridge supports employers with their diverse hiring needs and partners with them on virtual and on-site work and work based learning opportunities.
