This position reports directly to HR & HSE Manager and will have a high level of collaboration with all departments. Inovata Foods Corp.is looking for a Training Specialist to partner with us as we bring families and friends together through offering wholesome and convenient meals. The role is located in our Tillsonburg, Ontario facility. Inovata Foods Corp. is a major producer of wholesome control brand frozen meals for many of North America’s largest retailers. Position Details: Vacancy Type: Planned Vacancy Pay Range: $70 - $80,000 Primary Responsibilities: Lead new hire on-the-job training aligned with SOPs, work instructions, and standard work practices. Design and deliver job-specific skills training to ensure safe and efficient performance. Develop and administer competency assessments, observations, and sign-off processes. Champion health & safety practices including PPE, safe work behaviors, ergonomics, and incident prevention. Own food safety and quality training programs including GMP, HACCP, allergen, and sanitation requirements. Maintain and audit training records, training matrices, and employee qualification tracking systems. Analyze training completion timelines and trends, driving follow up on overdue or expired requirements. Provide advanced coaching, feedback, and retraining support to employees, mentors, and coordinators. Guide and develop mentors and training coordinators in executing role-specific training and onboarding expectations. Identify systemic training gaps and present data-driven recommendations to leadership teams. Lead corrective action retraining following incidents, quality concerns, audit findings, or performance concerns. Lead the creation, development, implementation, and rollout of SOPs, work instructions, and standardized training documentation across departments. Verify SOP and training effectiveness through floor observations, coaching, and competency validation, and recommend improvements. Standardize training practices across departments, shifts, and trainers to ensure consistency plant wide. Drive continuous improvement of onboarding systems, training materials, and training processes. Manage digital training systems, electronic training records, and document control processes. Lead audit preparation and ensure ongoing training compliance and audit readiness Partner with leadership to reinforce onboarding principles after orientation and throughout probationary periods. Own training-related KPI tracking and reporting, including onboarding effectiveness, competency completion, retention trends, and incident reduction initiatives. Design and facilitate mentorship, leadership development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Champion training accessibility for employees with varying literacy levels, learning styles, and language needs. Rewards: Full medical, dental and disability insurance package available on date of hire Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan with RBC after 1-year Three weeks' vacation to start and five sick days per year Quarterly incentive plan Annual Footwear allowance Requirements: Health & Safety Awareness Training HACCP / GMP training Train-the-Trainer or equivalent certification (required) 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, training, or a related field (required) Proven experience designing and delivering structured training programs Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles and operational environments Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple training priorities Experience with SOPs, training systems, and document control processes required Experience supporting audits and compliance programs required
