About the role
The Human Resources Assistant is an entry level role acting as a liaison between the company and our employees. Duties include facilitating effective communication between employees and helping management with important decisions like recruitment, promotions and terminations. In collaboration with the Director of Administration this includes:

- Recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Processing and monitoring payroll and payroll systems.
- Enrollments and updates to group insurance plan.
- Setup of employee Microsoft user accounts, payroll and HR platforms and systems, and employee setup to access schedules.
- Report and monitor staff accident reports; record and follow up on staff accidents to manage worker’s compensation claims.
- Monitoring performance evaluations.
- Monitoring training.
- Providing advice and assistance to employees, supervisors, and management in the event of disputes, dismissals, and performance enhancement plans.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and monitoring orientation.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements and maintaining records.
- Complete human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Prepare for year end and assist with the annual audit.
- Coordinate and oversee social media platforms, website, and promotional activities.
- Assist in fundraising as needed.
- Undertake special tasks, research, projects and/or other assignments, including representing the agency/organization on professional/community committees.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Human Resources experience is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

Effective communication skills.

Effective time and priority management skills and the ability to balance competing demands/priorities and deal with competing opinions.

First Aid/CPR certification, plus additional training, and experience to support specific service or case specific needs.

Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
