About the role
FFJ will be growing our staff over the next 2-3 years. We are thrilled to announce these first two open positions, to join our current team of two staff. FFJ is an entirely virtual organization, with staff and consultants across the U.S. Please send all inquiries to jobs@funders4justice.org. Funders for Justice is a national network and organizing platform for grant-makers, donor networks, and funder affinity groups to mobilize resources to grassroots organizing, led by and for people of color, at the intersections of racial justice, gender justice, ending criminalization, and building models for community safety & justice.
FFJ serves as a collaborative learning space, networking home, and leadership development hub for our members to connect across funding silos of issues and place, and cultivate common commitment to mobilize resources to movements to end the criminalization of people of color. We move members on a spectrum from education to action, in a process where participants learn from movements, and from each other, and ultimately apply those learnings to their institutions’ grant-making strategies and to their work at other funder tables.
FFJ Core Practices
Follow and promote leadership by and for people of color in movement and in philanthropy, primarily women and trans people of color Participate in collaborative learning, in which we lift up each other and movement partners Elevate and amplify collective work led by communities and movements, and promote funding solutions guided by movements Organize new funders into FFJ and drive new resources to movements
Open Positions as of 4/12/2021
Interviews are rolling, and are expected to begin in May 2021. Our goal is for both of these roles to be filled in June, and for work to begin by July.
