Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Data Migration Consultant / Specialist to support an active ERP and payroll implementation involving NetSuite, UKG, and related system integration work. The project has a targeted go-live date of January 1, 2027. This role will focus on data mapping, data cleansing, data loading, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness across legacy systems, NetSuite, UKG, and other related cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, implementation partners, IT teams, payroll, finance, HR, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate and complete data migration ahead of testing, cutover, and go-live.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Data Migration Consultant / Specialist with experience supporting ERP, HRIS, or payroll implementation projects. This person should be comfortable analyzing legacy data, creating mapping documentation, cleansing data, preparing load files, validating migration results, resolving data issues, and working with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party implementation partners. This is a strong fit for someone who understands both the technical and functional sides of data migration and can help ensure NetSuite, UKG, and related system data is accurate, complete, and ready for a successful go-live.
Key Responsibilities Data Assessment & Analysis
Analyze source systems, legacy data structures, extracts, and target system requirements to identify data gaps, quality issues, inconsistencies, duplicates, missing values, and transformation needs. Assess NetSuite, UKG, payroll, HR, ERP, finance, employee, organizational, and related integration data to support migration and implementation readiness. Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand current-state data, target-state requirements, field usage, business rules, and data ownership.
Data Mapping & Cleansing
Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation for legacy systems, NetSuite, UKG, and related third-party systems. Define data cleansing rules, transformation logic, validation criteria, migration requirements, and data readiness checkpoints. Support discovery sessions, data workshops, mapping reviews, and requirements discussions with business stakeholders and implementation partners. Cleanse and prepare data files for migration, testing, integration, and cutover activities.
Data Loading & Migration Execution
Support the extraction, transformation, loading, and validation of clean data files into target systems. Build, run, or support data scripts, templates, load files, and transformation processes required for the data loading process. Work with implementation partners and IT teams to coordinate test loads, production loads, file transfers, and cloud-based import/export activities. Support data migration activities across ERP, HRIS, payroll, workforce management, benefits, finance, and related integration workstreams.
Validation, Reconciliation & Testing
Run test loads and validate migrated records for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and business-rule alignment. Identify and resolve transformation errors, failed loads, rejected records, data mismatches, and reconciliation issues. Support UAT test data loads, system integration testing, end-to-end testing, payroll validation, cutover planning, and go-live readiness. Produce data migration reports, error files, reconciliation reports, issue logs, and data-quality tracking documentation as required.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with third-party implementation partners, vendors, project managers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to support migration planning and execution. Track data-related risks, issues, dependencies, mapping gaps, load defects, and outstanding decisions. Support project planning activities related to test cycles, data readiness, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live support. Escalate data quality, migration, or integration concerns to the project manager and relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills Minimum 4 years of data migration, data integration, data conversion, or data analysis experience. Experience supporting ERP, HRIS, payroll, finance, or workforce management implementation projects. Hands-on experience with NetSuite, UKG, or similar ERP / HRIS / payroll platforms is strongly preferred. Experience creating source-to-target mapping documents, data cleansing rules, transformation logic, validation files, and reconciliation reports. Experience supporting data extracts, imports, exports, file loads, data templates, CSV files, Excel workbooks, flat files, and cloud-based system data transfers. Strong experience working through phased implementation methodologies, including discovery, design, build, testing, UAT, cutover, go-live, and hypercare. Minimum 3 years of project experience supporting UAT test data loads, cutover data planning, migration readiness, and implementation testing activities. Minimum 2 years of experience working with third-party implementation partners, vendors, and project teams. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups, pivot tables, data comparison, reconciliation, formatting, and large file review. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work with messy or incomplete data. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced implementation environment with multiple stakeholders, vendors, deadlines, and competing priorities.
Preferred Skills Experience with NetSuite ERP data, including finance, vendor, customer, employee, organizational, project, or transactional data. Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Payroll, UKG Workforce Management, or related HRIS/payroll data. Experience supporting Canadian payroll data, unionized environments, complex pay rules, premium pay, accruals, benefits deductions, remittances, or timekeeping data. Experience with SQL, data profiling, ETL concepts, SFTP/file-transfer processes, APIs, XML, JSON, or integration platforms would be considered an asset. Experience supporting payroll parallel testing, ERP/HRIS integration testing, benefits integration testing, or production cutover activities.
