Job Summary: Start date: As soon as possible Number of positions to fill: 1 Salary: $100,000–$108,000 a year Employment status: Permanent Remote/On-site: Hybrid, 3-days on-site at Barrie Plant Work location: 333 Bayview Drive, Barrie (Ontario) L4N 8X9 Work schedule: Full-time, day shift, Monday to Friday
Role and responsibilities of the Human Resources Business Partner: Implement and drive HR programs in support of Garaga’s HR strategy. Provide coaching and guidance to management team on developing positive employee relations and performance management within the framework of current policies and collective agreements Provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of collective agreements, grievance handling and resolution, mediation and arbitration, and bargaining. Conduct investigations around workplace misconduct; recommend or advise on corrective actions including termination of employment Lead case management for disability (both work and non-work-related cases) Build and administer the attendance management program Research and inform management team of any HR and/or Health and Safety legislative changes that have impact on business operations; ensure policies reflect changes Lead recruitment by assisting management in workforce planning, external and internal job postings, interview and selection process, and contract negotiations Delegate and oversee onboarding activities of new employees Lead in assessing and strengthening leadership depth and employee capability; advise on training needs and development Act as advisor to the health and safety committee the health & safety programs including procedures, corrective actions, and health & safety events. Assist in processing of payroll and maintenance of benefit plans; respond to employee queries regarding payroll and benefit plans Assist in Collective Agreement Negotiations when required Plant presence on the shop floor Other duties as required
Required qualifications for our Human Resources Business Partner: 5-7 years work experience in the HR field. Experience working in the Manufacturing sector. HRM Certificate from a College or University. Member of HRPA. Working towards or have obtained CHRP/CHRL.
