Workforce Planning is essential to the success of TSSA’s inspection programs. In this role, you’ll help ensure inspectors are equipped with well‑planned, manageable workloads that allow them to deliver timely, risk‑based inspections. By coordinating resources and priorities behind the scenes, you’ll make a meaningful contribution to public safety outcomes across the province.
Your Key Contributions:
- Coordinate Workforce Scheduling for the Fuels Program: Review daily workforce planning assignments and inspector schedules within the Fuels program to confirm alignment with service targets and regulatory commitments. Adjust workloads by advancing, delaying, or redistributing tasks to maintain balanced and effective operations.
- Resolve Complex Operational Issues: Investigate Fuels-related scheduling, billing, and prerequisite discrepancies through detailed root-cause analysis. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement timely, accurate resolutions that support operational integrity and public safety.
- Manage Escalations with Accountability: Assess Level-3 escalations associated with Fuels operations, including compliance, customer, or operational concerns. Retain ownership of cases through to resolution, ensuring outcomes align with regulatory standards and organizational expectations.
- Optimize Resource Utilization: Monitor Fuels inspector utilization, backlog, and capacity metrics to support informed scheduling decisions. Plan and prioritize inspection activities to maintain productivity and meet service commitments.
- Analyze Operational Data: Review CRM, Power BI, and Fuels program data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Support implementation of process enhancements that strengthen safety, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain Schedule Oversight: Monitor Fuels program schedule boards to confirm workloads are prioritized appropriately and aligned with program requirements. Direct workload adjustments to address imbalances or emerging operational needs.
- Support Cross-Functional Alignment: Liaise with Finance, Operations, Legal/Investigations, Authorizations, Internal Audit, and Customer Support to resolve complex Fuels-related issues, ensuring coordination supports compliance, transparency, and service consistency.
Your Qualifications & Key Strengths:
Certifications:
- Support Foundational Education: Completion of or progress toward a post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Operations, Political Science, or a related field. Apply academic knowledge to support workforce planning activities within the Fuels program.
- Develop Regulatory Awareness: Participate in ongoing learning related to fuel safety regulations, compliance frameworks, and technical standards. Apply understanding to support consistent application of policies that promote public safety.
- Advance Analytical Capability: Engage in training related to data analysis, reporting tools, or process improvement methodologies. Apply enhanced analytical skills to support evidence-based decisions and operational improvements within the Fuels program.
Technical Background:
- Apply Workforce Planning Experience: Utilize a minimum of 5 years’ experience in workforce planning, scheduling, or customer service within operational or field-based environments. Support coordination of Fuels inspection workloads to align with service commitments and regulatory priorities.
- Use Systems and Data Tools Effectively: Operate CRM systems (including Microsoft Dynamics), Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications to manage Fuels scheduling, utilization, and operational data. Maintain accuracy and consistency across systems to support reliable reporting and decision-making.
- Analyze and Resolve Complex Issues: Assess Fuels-related escalations and operational challenges using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis. Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement resolutions that reinforce accountability, integrity, and service consistency.
Extra Information That Matters
Hiring Range Details: The hiring range for this role is $58,204.29 -$72,755.36. The annual salary may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications.
