About the role

Range: 66,400.00 - 99,600.00 CAD Job Description: Sr HR Specialist People Services We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to be the first point of contact to all employees and leaders at OLG for assistance with human resources related inquiries. They will complete the full spectrum of support including triage as needed or provide the direct support including the coordination and efficient execution of Workday activities to support business process. YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME Reporting to the Sr HR Manager People Services, you will be empowered to: Business Support Serve as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries from current (active and on leave) and former employees Provide guidance, support and coaching for pension, benefits, compensation, absences from work, payroll, and all Workday processes (hires, job changes and employee movement). Advise and/or direct employees, HR teams or service providers to HR policies and support self-service model highlighting gaps for smooth service delivery and escalating exceptions to appropriate team Conduct meetings with new hires to carry out onboarding activities Meet with employees transitioning to pregnancy, parental leave, and retirement to communicate and explain benefits and pension implications Coordinate with benefit providers, government agencies and other departments as necessary for timely inquiry resolution Back End Processing and Continuous Improvement Adhere to and enforce position management best practices including the creation of positions, job profiles and maintenance of the supervisory organization structure Develop and maintain all HR operations processes/procedures and documentation, focusing on best practice, compliance, and quality Manage and coordinate mass templates and changes within the HRMS Supporting the effectiveness of the HRMS application as the front-end HCM module expert; responsible for identifying and providing essential input on continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on enhancing the client experience Research complex employee inquiries due to discrepancies, historical inconsistencies providing written explanations and initiating the relevant corrective action plan engaging HR teams and service providers as required Maintain accurate employment records and maintain data integrity within the HRMS; assessing, creating, updating and auditing employee information to ensure alignment with organizational policies, procedures and legislative requirements Define criteria for audits related to employee life cycle events, collaborating with internal P&C teams to create effective end-to-end operational processes Participate in user acceptance testing in collaboration with HR Systems Team for the implementation of new systems, enhancements, and system functionality for workstreams WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or related program Human Resource Professional Association (HRPA) designation an asset Strong working knowledge of HR legislation, policies, procedures and best practices with the ability to apply them effectively. Practical knowledge of Office 365 suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive etc.) including intermediate Excel 2+ years working in an HR environment with general knowledge of several aspects of HR administration, operations, time, absence, benefits, onboarding and payroll Experience with Workday HCM or equivalent HRIS Relevant Skills: Organizational/time management skills with proficiency balancing inquiries and activities from multiple channels within tight timelines Strong customer service, preferably gained within an HR shared services environment, combined with excellent follow-up, communication, and relationship management skills Ability to manage confidential/sensitive information professionally Identify and contribute to changes in culture, systems, programs, processes and ways of working BENEFITS OF JOINING THE WINNING TEAM Group Benefits Plan: Eligible employees and dependents have access to comprehensive, employer-paid group benefits coverage (permanent employees only).
