We are looking for a Benefits & HR Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This permanent, full-time position is based at our Edmonton head office and reports to the HR Manager. The successful candidate must align with our core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee health and dental benefits, Health Spending Accounts, disability plans, pension plans, and Group RRSP programs.
- Manage benefit enrolments, employee changes, leaves of absence, returns to work, and terminations.
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries and work with benefit providers to resolve coverage, enrolment, billing, and claim-related matters.
- Coordinate benefit deductions, adjustments, invoice reconciliation, and required employee updates with Payroll.
- Coordinate onboarding for new and returning employees, including orientation support, documentation, system registration, employee profile setup, and onboarding tracking.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee and benefit records and support related reporting and audit requirements.
- Update employee crew assignments in the company’s internal timekeeping system as requested by Operations.
- Provide general HR administrative support and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Benefits Administration, or a related field is preferred;
- Minimum two years of experience in benefits administration or an HR administrative role with significant responsibility for employee benefits is required;
- Experience administering employee benefit plans, including enrolments, life-event changes, leaves of absence, and benefit terminations, in accordance with applicable plan provisions;
- Experience working with benefit providers and responding to employee benefit inquiries is required;
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar HR information system is an asset;
- Strong organizational, communication, recordkeeping, and computer skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail are required;
- Must exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information and be able to work independently and as part of a team;
