The HRM ensures alignment between HR practices and OKIB?s values, goals, and organizational culture. This role is responsible for the effective delivery of HR programs, services, and policies while fostering a respectful, safe, and productive work environment. Key areas of responsibility include workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, (excluding payroll & benefits administration and invoicing), policy compliance and workplace health and safety. The HRM provides guidance and support to leaders and acts as a subject matter expert in HR best practices and employment legislation. REPORTING STRUCTURE Reports to the Director of Administration. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with OKIB?s organizational goals and community values Lead the HR team, manage the department?s budget, and ensure timely reporting to leadership and Council Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, job design, and organizational structure. Provide strategic HR advice and recommendations to the Director of Administration, Executive Director and Chief and Council Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes to support staff growth and retention Maintain and review the compensation structure, lead job evaluation and classification processes Support and guide employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations and corrective actions Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal and provincial legislation and align with cultural values Manage HRIS systems and personnel records in coordination with the HR team and in collaboration with payroll Maintain and manage confidential personnel files and HRIS data in collaboration with HR and payroll Oversee workplace safety, disability management, and return-to-work planning in collaboration with leaders, employees and WorkSafeBC or other insurance carriers Provide training, coaching, and support to leaders and employees on HR-related matters Participate in emergency response efforts and community events as needed Perform other duties as assigned WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORYou have education, experience, or an equivalent combination may be considered. You are community-minded, detail-oriented, have a willingness to contribute to a team and an excellent communicator.Education Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience CPHR designation or eligibility (preferred) Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS platformsExperience Minimum five (7) years of progressive HR experience, including three (3) years in a leadership role Experience supporting Indigenous communities or organizations is an asset Strong knowledge of federal
