Role Description
The IoT Lead will oversee the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Internet of Things solutions, ensuring they align with client business objectives and technical requirements. In this full-time, on-site role located in Concord, ON. The IoT Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define solution architectures, select appropriate hardware and connectivity options, and integrate IoT platforms with existing enterprise systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading technical design reviews, guiding implementation teams, monitoring system performance, and ensuring security, scalability, and reliability of IoT solutions. The IoT Lead will also mentor junior team members, contribute to best practices, document standards, and support project planning, timelines, and stakeholder communication. Additionally, this role will stay current with emerging IoT technologies and recommend innovations to enhance solution offerings and client outcomes.
Qualifications Strong IoT solution design experience, including device integration, sensor selection, and connectivity (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, LPWAN). Hands-on expertise with IoT platforms and cloud services (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and related data ingestion pipelines. Solid background in embedded systems or firmware development, and familiarity with common IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP/REST). Knowledge of network architecture, cybersecurity principles, and secure device management for large-scale IoT deployments. Experience leading technical teams, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering complex technology projects end-to-end. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with comfort presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an asset. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, smart building, or related IoT domains is highly beneficial. Eligibility to work on-site in Mississauga
