About the role
TheLTL Operations Supervisor (OS) is accountable for the daily functions and ongoing growth and development of Bison’s assigned regional LTL division. This includes the monitoring of freight volumes, P performance, outbound efficiencies and overall performance of the LTL team& stakeholders. The OS is responsible for understanding our regional truckload operation and identifying constraints and synergies that would affect LTL’s day to day operation. The OS will be responsible for the growth and development of our people in the assigned region.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Continuous development of LTL operational solutions and growth strategy.
- Lead the LTL team on their day-to-day performance, setting clear expectations.
- Partner with Pricing and Sales to generate more freight, generating a monthly sales report to demonstrate success.
- Partner with Eastern Coordinator and CSR to understand the general picture and daily requirements of our freight.
- Development of KPIs and implementing daily/weekly performance metrics.
- Leadership and people development relating to training new and current staff and recruitment.
- Responsible for day to day coverage when required due to holidays, volume surges or errors resulting in incomplete tasks
- Ongoing review, performance management, and motivation of the LTL team.
- Working in conjunction with our systems department for further development of our overall service handling of freight.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
- 2-3 years related experience including proven ability to lead and mentor a team
- Ability to demonstrate success using strong communication and interpersonal skills,

- Proven time-management skills,

- Able to quickly adapt to changes, shift focus, meet deadlines, and complete time-sensitive tasks.
- Knowledge of the geography of North America
- Knowledge of the Trucking Rules and Regulations, Service Capabilities and Standards, Freight Lanes and Rates.
