Your role

The Learning and Development team supports ongoing growth for all CBC/Radio-Canada programmers and leaders. It offers a wide range of services and programs that truly reflect the needs of employees, such as leadership programs, professional skills courses, craft skills courses and multiple development opportunities.

You will work with business leaders on training and development initiatives. Your role will be to bring expertise and leadership to the needs analysis, the design, the implementation and the evaluation phases of training activities.

This posting is for a one-year contract and is a hybrid role. The role should be based in Montreal or Toronto.

More specifically, you will perform the following duties:

  • Conduct training needs analysis and propose relevant and innovative solutions.
  • Bring expertise and leadership to the design, adaptation, planning, implementation phases of training activities.
  • Plan evaluation strategies to ensure efficacy of initiatives and effect on our business activities.
  • Solicit proposals from external providers, evaluate their services, and make the appropriate recommendations to clients.
  • Ensure that content is relevant and effective at all times, while exploring new methodologies and joint learning opportunities.
  • Analyze results and make the necessary recommendations to ensure the quality and relevance of training initiatives, learning transfer, and maximum training impact for the organization.
  • Accompany and coach internal trainers in the development and facilitation of courses, as needed.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, industrial relations, industrial psychology, or other relevant field.
  • Five (5) or more years’ relevant experience assessing needs, and developing learning tools and strategies, learning evaluation tools, blended learning solutions, etc.
  • Bilingualism (English/French, spoken and written) essential
  • Extensive knowledge and experience assessing and gauging learning and developmental needs.
  • Very good knowledge of facilitation techniques, both in person and virtually.
  • Very good knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Experience with development of e-learning
  • Experience with development of videos, podcasts, job-aids
  • Ability to keep up to date with training methodologies and best practices.
  • Solid communications and interpersonal skills; gifted at building business relationships with clients.
  • Strong ability for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong interest in continuous learning and a growth mindset
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a rapidly shifting organizational environment.
  • Solid command of the Google suite
  • Hybrid work: 2 days in the office required
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
