Job Summary: Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department through communication and enforcement of policies and procedures and updating the HR systems accurately.
Required Education And Experience
Completion of Diploma in Human Resources Management Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) preferred Minimum of 3 years' experience Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written) Knowledge of HR best practices Strong knowledge of Ontario workplace legislation, Employment Standards Acts and Human Rights Code Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations Strong Coordination and organizational skills
Essential Functions
Assist with the maintenance of the company's Performance Management systems; Performance Appraisal process, Progressive Discipline process and Performance Improvement Plan Manage the temporary workers Coordinate the Martinrea Orientation Model for all temporary and full time employees. Complete the necessary administration to ensure they are entered into the HR systems accordingly Ensure all system requirements are being met for tracking of company training; update Employee/Department Training records in HR systems, update employees files and follow up where necessary Assist employees with concerns and answer questions on the Martinrea Employee Handbook and other HR related questions. Maintenance of employee files and ensure employee files are neat, organized and up to date. Identify and implement improvements for HR department, to ensure runs as efficiently and effectively as possible Coordinate unemployment documentation for claims handling Plan and organize company sponsored events and activities (i.e. employee appreciation events, team building, etc.) Act as an HR Witness to disciplinary meetings and ensure discipline is delivered in a manner that is fair, objective and consistent with previous cases of a similar nature Provide backup to HR Manager during absence by providing support to employees, Supervisors and Manager where possible. Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment
70% Office environment, 30% Plant floor (PPE required)
Decision Making And Authority
Authority of decisions: How to communicate to Supervisors/ Managers Prioritization of workload Recommendations: Changes to HR processes, procedures, forms and polices Improvements to HR systems Improvements of communication to plant floor employees and Supervisors/ Managers Physical Demands
Repetitive sitting for prolonged periods of time Employee is required to talk and intensively listen on a regular basis Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less Must be available to work partial midnight shifts occasionally
Health And Safety
Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
