We are looking for someone who can do both ? own our recruitment and people processes while also stepping into our scheduling operation and helping keep it tight. You'll be joining an existing scheduling team, so you won't be doing this alone, but you need to come in with real home care scheduling experience. You know what it's like when a caregiver calls in sick at 6 a.m. You know the juggle. You've lived it.

This role starts part-time with a clear path to full-time for the right person.

Scheduling Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain caregiver schedules, coordinating shifts, coverage, and last-minute changes alongside our existing scheduling team
  • Ensure continuity of care by matching the right caregivers to the right clients based on skills, availability, and client needs
  • Handle call-ins, cancellations, and shift swaps quickly and calmly ? keeping clients covered and caregivers supported
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to caregivers, clients, and the rest of the team

HR Responsibilities

  • Write and post job listings that attract people who actually care about the work, not just the paycheque
  • Review applications and conduct interviews with a focus on fit, values, and reliability
  • Guide new hires through onboarding so their first experience with us is a great one
  • Manage employment onboarding paperwork, including offer letters, contracts, and tax forms
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment documents and ensure new hires complete them on time
  • Maintain and communicate company policies, the employee handbook, and code of conduct
  • Handle compliance and legal documentation to keep us aligned with employment regulations
  • Process payroll setup forms and ensure accurate, timely payment for all staff
  • Conduct background checks and maintain verification records
  • Manage time-off requests, ensuring they're approved fairly and coordinated with the scheduling team to avoid coverage gaps
  • Support current staff through questions, concerns, and day-to-day HR matters
  • Help build and improve the people systems that keep everything running as we grow

Schedule In office: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Work from home: Tuesday and Thursday

Skills & Qualifications

  • Direct scheduling experience in a home care environment ? you understand the pace, the complexity, and the stakes when a shift doesn't get covered
  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, or meaningful equivalent experience
  • Hands-on recruitment and onboarding experience ? you've done this, not just read about it
  • Familiarity with Alberta employment standards and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with caregivers, clients, and colleagues
  • A calm, grounded presence ? someone who stays steady under pressure and solves problems without creating new ones
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and staff support

Compensation $24?$27 per hour depending on experience.
