About the role
Job Title: Workday Compensation Consultant Location: Canada (Remote) Job Type: Contract Experience: 6+ Years Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Workday Compensation Consultant to support the implementation, configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of Workday Compensation solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Workday Compensation, including merit, bonus, stock, compensation reviews, salary plans, and advanced compensation processes. The consultant will work closely with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to design scalable compensation solutions aligned with organizational policies. Key Responsibilities Configure and maintain Workday Compensation business processes, compensation plans, eligibility rules, and salary grades. Lead or support Workday Compensation implementations, enhancements, and production support activities. Configure and manage: Merit Planning Bonus Planning Stock Compensation Compensation Reviews Salary Ranges & Grades Allowances and One-Time Payments Gather business requirements and translate them into Workday functional solutions. Configure compensation business processes, security, validations, and approvals. Support annual compensation planning cycles, merit increases, promotions, and bonus allocations. Develop calculated fields, custom reports, dashboards, and EIBs related to compensation. Perform testing (Unit, SIT, UAT) and coordinate defect resolution. Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent teams for end-to-end process integration. Troubleshoot Workday issues and recommend best practices. Prepare functional documentation, configuration workbooks, and end-user training materials. Required Skills 6+ years of HRIS/Workday experience. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Compensation. Strong knowledge of: Compensation Plans Salary Grades Merit & Bonus Planning Advanced Compensation Compensation Eligibility Rules Compensation Packages Business Process Configuration Experience with Workday Reporting, Calculated Fields, and EIB. Understanding of Workday Security Framework. Experience supporting annual compensation review cycles. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience working in Agile environments. Preferred Qualifications Workday Compensation Certification (Preferred). Experience with Workday HCM Core. Experience integrating Compensation with Payroll, Benefits, Talent, and Performance. Knowledge of Workday Prism, Workday Extend, or Workday Studio is a plus. Experience with Workday Release Management and feature adoption. Nice to Have Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation. Experience with global compensation processes. Knowledge of compensation benchmarking and market pricing. Exposure to Workday integrations and APIs.
