We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented HR Manager to lead our HR function, strengthen team performance, and establish the operational discipline required to support our continued growth.

This is a hands-on, operational role for a proven HR leader who can build accountability, develop people, and bring structure to a growing organization. The successful candidate will ensure Steelcon's HR practices, systems, and processes consistently support business objectives.

Position Overview

The HR Manager is responsible for the overall effectiveness of Steelcon's Human Resources function. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures the HR department delivers high-quality service, operational excellence, and measurable results.

The HR Manager will act as a trusted business partner to leaders across the organization, driving employee engagement, talent development, HR systems optimization, and organizational effectiveness. This role requires a strong leader capable of developing talent, holding teams accountable, and transforming HR into a proactive, high-performing function.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Team Performance Lead, coach, and develop the HR team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards. Build a high-performing HR function through effective performance management, talent development, organizational change, and continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of ownership, professionalism, collaboration, and service excellence across the department. Strategic HR Partnership Partner with leaders across the business to develop and execute people strategies that support operational goals and organizational growth. Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. Identify workforce trends, challenges, and opportunities, recommending practical solutions that drive engagement, retention, and productivity. HR Operations, Systems & Process Excellence Ensure the effective delivery of HR, reporting, and employee administration processes while continuously improving efficiency and service levels. Serve as the organization's HRIS leader, leveraging Dayforce to optimize workflows, enhance reporting, and support data-driven decision-making. Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and security of employee data while driving process standardization and operational consistency. Talent, Compensation & Organizational Development Oversee onboarding, compensation, and total rewards programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. Enhance employee development, learning and training programs, career pathing, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and support long-term business growth. Ensure people programs are aligned with business objectives and support a culture of growth, performance, and accountability. Learning, Development & Training Lead the execution and continuous improvement of employee learning, development, and training programs, providing subject matter expertise and recommendations that support workforce capability and organizational growth. Partner with leaders across the organization to identify training needs, address skill gaps, and implement development initiatives that enhance employee performance, engagement, and career progression. Evaluate training effectiveness through participation, feedback, and performance outcomes, recommending enhancements and new programs that align with evolving business needs and industry best practices.

Qualifications Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent HR designation preferred. Minimum 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility. Extensive hands-on experience with Dayforce HRIS is required. Proven success leading and developing HR professionals and building accountability across multiple HR disciplines. Strong understanding of HR technology, workforce analytics, reporting, and process optimization. Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive performance through others. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing learning and development, leadership training, and workforce capability-building programs. Sound knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and workforce management principles. Construction, manufacturing, or industrial industry experience is considered a strong asset.
