100% Temporary Human Resources Clerk
Location: Catholic Education Centre, 255 Speedvale Ave W., Guelph
Hours: 34.5 hours per week scheduled 7am-3pm Mon-Thurs; 7am-2:30pm Fri
Salary: Non-Affiliated Grade 2 – Step 1 $52,168 – Step 5 $65,212/yr

Responsibilities And Duties
The Wellington Catholic School Board invites applications for the position of Human Resources Clerk. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor of Human Resources and have responsibility for providing human resources services to staff, principals/vice-principals, managers and supervisors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administer the employee absence tracking and supply staff deployment system (Smart Find Express) and production of related reports in accordance with collective agreements and/or board processes. Administer the weekly download of data from Smart Find Express (SFE) to the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for absence and payroll processing. Perform transactional data entry into Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Support the Human Resources department staff with various functions including but not limited to composing correspondence, maintaining online resources, taking minutes, processing department mail, creating and maintaining personnel and other files, verification of timesheet discrepancies. Process and respond to general inquiries related to human resources policies/procedures. Support the facilitation of short-term leave of absence requests including assessing collective agreement eligibility, past practice, track/record approvals based on exceptional circumstances and maintain communication with employees, supervisors and unions regarding decisions. Ensure that unpaid leave days are processed through payroll in accordance with department procedures. Maintain high quality standards in the delivery of internal human resources services. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Human Resources, Executive Superintendent and/or designate.
Required Qualifications And Experience
A post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or Office Administration (or working towards) and/or related equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years’ related experience in a supportive clerical or administrative capacity, preferably within a Human Resources department. School board experience is an asset. Advanced abilities in a computerized environment utilizing software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, OneDrive), HRIS, website maintenance, and other web-based applications. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced office environment with excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and maintain efficiency and effectiveness of services. Strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate ability to function effectively within a team and collaborate with colleagues, principals/vice-principals, supervisors, managers, staff, and others. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
