Description
Our client is currently undergoing a large-scale Human Capital Management (HCM) transformation and is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced QA Tester with deep expertise in Dayforce, Payroll, and Workforce Time Management (WFM) to ensure the highest quality of our internal systems. The QA Tester with strong expertise in Dayforce, Payroll, and Workforce Time Management (WFM) will support end-to-end testing activities for a large-scale HCM implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating Dayforce configurations, testing integrations, developing detailed test cases, executing test scenarios, identifying defects, and ensuring business requirements are met across Payroll and Workforce Management processes. This role requires a strong foundational understanding of Dayforce functionality, payroll processing, time and attendance, absence management, and integration testing methodologies.
Responsibilities Testing & Validation Validate Dayforce configuration against documented business and functional requirements. Execute end-to-end testing across Payroll, Workforce Time Management, Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Absence Management, and related HCM processes. Perform System Integration Testing (SIT), help plan & coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Payroll Parallel Testing. Validate inbound and outbound integrations between Dayforce and connected systems. Verify data flows, interface mappings, calculations, transformations, and reconciliation results. Conduct functional testing to ensure solution configurations support expected business outcomes. Test Case Development Develop detailed test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on documented business requirements and business process flows. Translate business scenarios into structured, traceable test cases with expected outcomes and evidence requirements. Maintain test coverage mappings between requirements, configurations, and test cases. Prepare and manage test data required for execution activities. Defect Management Identify, document, and track defects through resolution. Work closely with functional consultants, payroll SMEs, business analysts, integration teams, and developers to investigate issues. Retest resolved defects and validate fixes. Support defect triage sessions and provide testing status updates. Payroll & Workforce Management Testing Validate payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, taxes, overtime, premiums, shift differentials, and union rules. Test workforce management processes including schedules, timesheets, attendance policies, punch processing, leave management, and pay rule configurations. Validate payroll and workforce management integrations with upstream and downstream systems. Ensure compliance with payroll and workforce management business requirements and policies. Documentation & Reporting Document test results, evidence, defects, and testing metrics. Provide clear status reports on testing progress, risks, and issues. Support test planning, test execution, and sign-off activities.
Qualifications
5+ years of Quality Assurance and software testing experience. 3+ years of hands-on Dayforce testing experience. Demonstrated experience testing Dayforce Payroll and Dayforce Workforce Management (WFM) modules. Strong functional understanding of payroll processing, time and attendance, scheduling, absence management, and labor rules. Proven experience testing system integrations, APIs, flat-file interfaces, and data conversions. Experience creating detailed test cases, test scripts, and traceability matrices from business requirements. Proficiency with defect management and test management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira. Nice-to-Haves Experience supporting large-scale Dayforce implementations or HCM transformation programs. Experience with payroll parallel testing and reconciliation activities. Knowledge of unionized work environments and complex workforce rules. Experience working within Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies. Official Dayforce certifications are considered a strong asset. Soft Skills & Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking. Strong capabilities in requirements traceability and defect management. Excellent stakeholder collaboration and cross-functional communication skills. Test automation awareness and risk identification/mitigation capabilities. Proven ability to validate end-to-end business processes effectively. Education and Certifications Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
