About the role
The CT Operations Leader is a key member of our leadership group, working closely with the other Operations Leaders, Manager, Radiologists and other interprofessional team members. They are primarily responsible for the daily operations in CT, facilitating and delivering high quality services to meet the needs of our patients and referring physicians. The incumbent must provide statistical and process analysis for the management team to facilitate effective operational planning and decision-making. The incumbent works in collaboration with internal partners to address technology-specific training needs and participates in initiatives related to services in Diagnostic Imaging.
This position plays a leadership role in ensuring the effective and efficient operations of CT. As a member of the DI leadership team, the Operations Leader also assists in ensuring the provision of excellence in patient services through monitoring and adjusting daily operational services as well as project activities to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations. The Operations Leader will provide staff supervision and support human resource planning, including monitoring competency assessment process for staff and supporting the ongoing education, mentorship and development of CT staff. The role will execute and manage initiatives in line with the organization's future vision for Diagnostic services, ensuring identified objectives are met, actively participating in program planning, development, expansion and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures daily effective workflow and service in respective areas of responsibility.
- Prepares staff schedules in accordance with budget.
- Works closely with the Interventional Operations Leader to coordinate staffing and operations
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve workflow processes for better efficiencies in terms of service delivery, work load, productivity, etc.
- Responding to patient incidents/complaints and following up with staff to review and improve service and processes.
- Completes safety reports in a timely manner.
- Managing a team of skilled CT technologists, providing leadership, in-depth technical expertise, guidance and support.
- Ensuring patient safety, comfort and adherence to protocols during imaging procedures.
- Performing advanced, complex and specialized CT scans, assisting team members as needed.
- Collaborating with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records, patient documentation and quality assurance standards.
- Plans and maintains scheduling templates to meets the demands of our patients.
- Reviews/Enters payroll
- Complete staff performance appraisals, staff development, conflict resolution and continuous quality improvement with assistance from Manager as needed.
- Monitors inventory via service and supply contracts and participates in renewals as needed.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring respective equipment has required preventative maintenance, quality control and coordinates corrective maintenance as needed.
- Maintaining records as required for all respective equipment.
- Collects data, preparing and submitting statistical and other reports as required using RIS and other tools to Ontario Health and other departments
- Orientate/train staff in new procedures, policies and to new equipment/technology.
- Ensure staff compliance with required learning modules.
- Develop, update and ensure compliance of manuals, policies and procedures.
- Participates in Technical/Clinical coverage and all associated responsibilities/duties.
- Participates in departmental and hospital committees as required.
- Participates in departmental projects and initiatives as required.
- Excellent knowledge of hospital systems required.
- Knowledge in the creation and use of spreadsheets, database, word and excel documents required.
- Liaises with PACS and RIS teams and assists with PACS errors, unvalidated and unreported exams
- Demonstrates commitment to customer service.
- Any additional duties as related to respective area(s).
Qualifications include:

Current CMRITO registration required.

Minimum of 5 years experience as a CT technologist required.

Experience in a leadership role (i.e. Supervisor, Charge Technologist, Educator, Operations Leader) preferred.

Experience in scheduling within budget an asset.

Experience in leading projects/initiatives an asset.
