Doctors Manitoba is looking for an experienced Payroll & HR Specialist to join our team. This position will focus on delivering accurate and efficient payroll administration, supporting human resources activities, and benefit administration across the organization. Payroll & HR Specialist Responsibilities

Payroll Administration Process semi-monthly employee payroll, bi-weekly member benefit program payments, and monthly Board and Committee payroll. Administer employee benefits, RRSP contributions, payroll deductions, and accruals. Prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and year-end reporting, including T4s and T4As. Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and applicable legislation. Respond to payroll inquiries in a confidential and timely manner.

Human Resources Administration Maintain employee records, HR systems, and employment documentation. Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding activities. Coordinate employee leave tracking, benefits administration, and HR communications. Assist with performance management processes and employee records management.

Policy, Compliance & Employee Support Support compliance with employment standards and organizational policies. Assist with the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. Provide guidance on HR policies, practices, and workplace processes. Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of employee information.

Benefits, Reporting & Organizational Support Administer group benefits programs and liaise with service providers. Support employee wellness initiatives and programs. Prepare reports and documentation for leadership and regulatory requirements. Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to HR and organizational development. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong payroll expertise, HR administration experience, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Requirements Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or working toward certification is an asset 3 – 5 years of experience in payroll and HR administration Experience in a non-profit environment is considered an asset Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and CRA requirements Familiarity with Manitoba Employment Standards and HR best practices Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment

Work Environment Typical working conditions include daytime hours and occasional weekend and evening work.
