Workday Analyst
About the role
HR Systems & Analytics Specialist (Workday)
Role Overview In this role, you will be the go-to technical expert for high-level reporting, data analysis, and optimization within our Workday HCM ecosystem. You will act as a critical analytical bridge, keeping a pulse on three major business silos to ensure data alignment, track cross-functional trends, and deliver key information to leadership. Operating within an Agile framework, you will transform raw HR data into actionable insights while supporting daily configuration and system optimization. What You Will Do High-Level Reporting & Analytics: Build, maintain, and optimize advanced Workday reports (matrix, trended, composite) and executive dashboards to support workforce planning, retention tracking, and organizational health. Cross-Silo Data Partnership: Serve as the primary analytics partner for three major business units. Monitor their distinct data pipelines, look for trends or discrepancies, and provide stakeholders with synthesized, key information. System Optimization & Configuration: Perform hands-on Workday configuration updates, business process alignments, and data validations to support business changes and scaling. Agile Delivery: Actively participate in an Agile operating model—contributing to sprint planning, managing your own delivery backlog, and executing iterative system enhancements. Data Migration & Release Support: Assist with data mapping, system testing, and data uploads (EIBs) for internal reorganizations or corporate transitions. Governance & Compliance: Support system-related audits, maintain data integrity standards, and ensure reporting outputs comply with regional data privacy laws. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. Experience: 3–5 years of experience working as a Workday Analyst or Specialist with a heavy emphasis on reporting and data analytics. Silo Management: Proven track record of managing data requests and balancing priorities for multiple distinct business units or stakeholders simultaneously. Agile Exposure: Experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework (managing sprint tasks and story point delivery). Technical Skills Required Workday Report Writing: Advanced capability in Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and dashboard creation. Experience with Prism Analytics or Discovery Boards is a major plus. Workday Configuration: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience configuring Core HCM modules and business processes. Data Manipulation: Strong data literacy; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data cleaning) for auditing and translating Workday data. Process Automation: Solid understanding of automated workflows and how to streamline manual data entry using Workday tools.
