About Us LEARNINGO is a registered charity supporting autistic individuals and people with diverse support needs through innovative educational, recreational, and community-based programming. We are a small but growing organization with established programs, strong community partnerships, and a committed team. We are entering an important phase focused on strengthening sustainability, systems, and long-term impact.

The Opportunity This is a part-time Executive Director role with real scope for influence. We are seeking a leader who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment where strategy and operations overlap. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys building systems, strengthening organizations, and supporting meaningful community impact.

The ideal candidate may be: An emerging nonprofit leader ready to step into an Executive Director role, or An experienced leader looking for a part-time, flexible, mission-driven position with room to shape and grow an organization

Qualifications Required Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Education, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Minimum 3 years progressive leadership or management experience in the non-profit, education, health, disability or human services sector Minimum 2 years of experience supervising staff and managing organizational operations Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation Preferred Experience working with Autistic individuals or those with diverse support needs Experience working with a registered charity or non profit Knowledge of CRA charitable regulations, non-profit governance, and board relations Experience with strategic planning, organizational growth and change management Experience with fundraising and donor stewardship Familiarity with bookkeeping software SAGE Certifications (held or willing to obtain) Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) First Aid & CPR-C Background check with Vulnerable Sector Check Child Abuse Registry check Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or equivalent (asset)

Core Areas of Responsibility

  1. Organizational Leadership & Strategy Lead the implementation of the organization's strategic priorities. Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and sustainability. Provide recommendations to the Board regarding organizational development. Support succession planning and organizational capacity building. Monitor risks and operational challenges.
  2. Governance & Board Relations Serve as the primary liaison between the Board and operations. Prepare Board agendas, reports, and supporting documentation. Attend Board, Executive Committee, and AGM meetings. Support policy and bylaw development. Ensure compliance with governance requirements.
  3. Financial Management Oversee bookkeeping and financial administration. Review organizational cash flow and financial projections. Monitor budgets and provide financial updates to the Board. Coordinate year-end financial requirements. Maintain relationships with accountants, banks, CRA, and auditors. Approve significant expenditures and reimbursements.
  4. Human Resources Oversight Provide oversight of staffing structures and organizational charts. Support recruitment strategy and workforce planning. Supervise senior leadership staff. Review and approve payroll processes. Support complex staff relations matters when escalated.
  5. Fund Development & Community Relations Lead grant writing and funding applications. Cultivate relationships with donors, funders, and community partners. Support fundraising events and campaigns. Represent the organization at meetings and networking opportunities. Develop corporate and community sponsorship opportunities.
  6. Operational Oversight Ensure programs operate in alignment with organizational policies and mission. Monitor program capacity, participant demand, and organizational resources. Respond to significant operational issues or escalated concerns. Delegate operational responsibilities appropriately to Directors and support staff.
  7. Administration Maintain key organizational records. Ensure compliance with CRA, insurance, and regulatory requirements. Oversee organizational systems and administrative processes. Coordinate major organizational projects and reporting requirements. Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
