About the role

Are you a highly organized administrative professional with exceptional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Board of Directors (BOD) Office as a Board Administrative Liaison.

Reporting to the Director, Governance, the Board Administrative Liaison is a highly trusted partner who supports the effective operation of WorkSafeBC's Board of Directors and Board Office.

In this role, you'll work closely with Board members, senior leaders, government representatives, and external stakeholders to coordinate governance activities, support Board operations, and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and confidential information.

This position operates in a highly visible environment and requires exceptional discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism when handling sensitive information related to WorkSafeBC's governance, policies, and strategic priorities.

How you’ll make a difference: You’ll support WorkSafeBC’s corporate governance so we can best serve B.C.’s workers and employers.

Where you’ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

Support the effective operation of WorkSafeBC's Board of Directors and Board Committees by coordinating meetings, governance activities, and annual Board processes. Attend all Board of Directors and committee meetings, preparing accurate and concise minutes that reflect discussions, decisions, and action items, and managing the minutes approval process. Manage the preparation, publication, and maintenance of Board materials, resolutions, meeting records, and governance documentation using established governance practices and systems. Provide administrative support to the Board Chair and Director, Governance, including managing schedules, correspondence, travel, and Board-related activities. Act as a liaison between Board members, senior leaders, government representatives, external stakeholders, and internal business areas to facilitate the flow of information and support governance objectives. Support Board member onboarding, education, events, and ongoing administrative requirements, ensuring a positive and effective Board experience. Contribute to governance initiatives, special projects, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance the effectiveness of the Board Office. Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

We’re Looking For Someone/people Who Can

Coordinate complex Board and committee activities, ensuring governance processes, meeting materials, and records are managed with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Build and maintain trusted relationships with Board members, senior leaders, government representatives, and external stakeholders while fostering collaboration and effective communication. Exercise exceptional discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, and governance-related matters. Communicate clearly and professionally, producing high-quality meeting materials, correspondence, reports, and governance documentation for a variety of audiences. Manage competing priorities and changing deadlines, remaining organized, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced environment. Anticipate needs, identify issues early, and take proactive action to support the Board Chair, Director Governance, and Board Office while driving successful outcomes.

Your Background And Experience

A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Political Science, or a related discipline. A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in progressively responsible administrative experience supporting senior leaders, executives, Board of Directors, or governance functions. Demonstrated ability to prepare professional correspondence, meeting minutes, agendas, and reports. Experience coordinating Board and committee meetings, preparing governance documentation, and managing confidential information. Experience working with senior stakeholders, government representatives, or within a regulated environment is considered an asset. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, including complex calendar management, governance reporting, and preparation of Board and executive materials.

Salary: $83,072.00 - $100,933.00/annually
